Bobcats Head to Wenatchee

BISMARCK, ND–The Bismarck Bobcats step out of their NAHL Central Division schedule this weekend to face the Wenatchee Wild in Wenatchee, WA.

Bismarck (23-12-4, 50 points) and Wenatchee (18-17-4, 40 points) last met in the home opening weekend for the Bobcats on September 27th and 28th, games swept by the Bobcats 4-3 and 5-2, respectively.

Stanislav Dzakhov (Moscow, Russia) had a breakout weekend against the Wild in September, scoring four times and helping once for a five-point weekend.  Evan Giesler (Naperville, IL) notched a goal and assisted four times, also ending the weekend with five points.

Wenatchee was led by Parker Tuomie, who scored twice and recorded an assist for three points.  Bismarck outshot the Wild 75-45 in the two-game series.

Entering the weekend, Nate Repensky (Duluth, MN) has taken the Bobcat team lead in scoring with 33 points, scoring the lone goal at Minot in a 2-1 loss to the Minotauros last Sunday.  With an assist Repensky’s goal, Giesler became the third Bobcat this season to score his 30th point, joining Repensky and Dzakhov.

Troy Loggins leads the Wild with 17 goals and 21 assists for 38 points this season.  Tuomie has 35 on 16 scores and 19 helpers.

Standings stand big as a chief concern for both teams.  Bismarck trails Austin by three points for first place in the NAHL Central Division, and has a four-point lead on Aberdeen for second.  Wenatchee trails Kenai River by five points for fourth place and the final playoff spot in the NAHL Midwest.
