BISMARCK, ND – The 2010 Robertson Cup Champion Bismarck Bobcats are closing in on the start of the 2010-11 season and the start of their title defense against the rest of the North American Hockey League. The offseason hits a crescendo Friday as the Bobcats’ Final Camp gets underway at the VFW Sports Center at 5:00 PM.
This year, the Bobcats are opening camp—running Friday through Sunday—to the public, so Bobcat Hockey fans can watch as 75 players who have been drafted, tendered or selected by the ‘Cats this offseason, in addition to returners from the 2009-10 championship squad, battle it out for a chance to make the final 23-man roster.
“We are thrilled to give our fans a first look at the 2010-2011 edition of Bobcat Hockey this weekend at the VFW Sports Center,” said Bobcats team owner Thom Brigl. “To enhance the fan experience for our supporters as they watch all the action as these 75 young men from across the country strive to make the Bobcats, we are pleased to open our concessions and beer sales all weekend.”
There will be four sessions of two games—excluding Sunday’s All-Star Game session—plus one goalies-only session, over the three days as follows:
Session One, Friday, August 6th
Game One, 5:00 PM: Team Black vs. Team Teal
Game Two, 6:35 PM: Team Gold vs. Team Royal Blue
Session Two, Saturday, August 7th
Game One, 10:00 AM: Team Black vs. Team Royal Blue
All Goalie Session, 11:35 AM: All goalies on the ice
Game Two, 12:50 PM: Team Gold vs. Team Team
Session Three, Saturday, August 7th
Game One, 5:00 PM: Team Black vs. Team Gold
Game Two, 6:40 PM: Team Teal vs. Team Royal Blue
Session Four, Sunday, August 6th
All-Star Game*, 9:00 AM: Team Black vs. Team Gold
* – All-Star Game Rosters will be announced after the last game of Session Three.
Admission to any of the weekend’s four sessions is free of charge.
