Bobcats Tender Century High Product Rauhauser

BISMARCK, ND – While the Bismarck Bobcats continue their quest for playoff positioning in the 2013 postseason on the ice, off the ice the Cats put together another piece of the puzzle for the 2013-14 season when they signed Century High forward Alec Rauhauser to a tender agreement.

“I’m really excited to sign on to be a part of Bobcat Hockey,” beamed Rauhauser, who put up 30 goals and 37 assists in 27 games for the West Region champion Patriots. “I grew up watching the Bobcats, and to be able to keep playing in front of the great hockey fans around here and the awesome crowds at the VFW Sports Center is a great feeling.”

By signing an agreement for next season, Rauhauser immediately becomes a part of the Bobcats’ 30-man protected roster for 2012-13, comprising returning veterans, tender signees and selections from May’s NAHL Entry Draft.

Rauhauser’s senior year was one to remember: it started with being named to NHL Central Scouting’s Draft Watch List—where he is currently ranked 196th among all North American skaters—and then continued as he finished second state-wide in scoring with 67 points en route to his third straight All-State selection.

A finalist for Outstanding Senior of the Year, Rauhauser was featured on ESPN’s Sports Center Top Ten on February 6 for an eye-popping power play goal he scored against Bismarck High the previous night. The senior forward was also named to the 2013 State Hockey All-Tournament Team.

In all, he racked up 157 points on 63 goals and 94 assists in his four years at Century.

“Alec is a special player who’s got that rare combination of size (6’3”) and skill,” assessed Bobcat head coach and general manager Layne Sedevie. “We have had the pleasure of watching him grow up in front of us and we know that the sky is the limit for his hockey career.”

For the current season, the Bobcats continue a five-game homestand Thursday against the Minot Minotauros at the VFW Sports Center, a make-up game for the February 2 contest that was postponed due to hazardous travel conditions. Tickets from the original game will be honored at the door.

Tickets for the game are on sale right now by calling the box office at 222-3300 or buying and printing tickets online at www.BismarckBobcats.com.

Thursday’s intrastate showdown will be broadcast locally on the radio home of Bobcat Hockey, Super Talk 1270, KLXX-AM, and worldwide on the official internet television partner of the NAHL, FASTHockey, at http://nahl.fasthockey.com. Pregame coverage gets under way at 6:45 PM.
