Fans’ Early Opportunity

Sep 21, 2011

BISMARCK, ND – When the Aberdeen Wings come to town to take on the Bismarck Bobcats on Coors Light Opening Night Friday, it will provide Bobcat fans their very first chance at tickets for December’s international showdown between the Bobcats and Russia’s Red Stars.

“We are thrilled to offer a short run of 500 seats for the hottest ticket in town, our game against the Russians, exclusively to the fans who attend Coors Light Opening Night against Aberdeen,” proclaimed Bobcats team owner Thom Brigl. “It is a chance for our most faithful fans to have the first crack at seats to one of the biggest events in franchise history.”

The tickets, which will be $20.00/$18.00 for adults and $16.00/$15.00 for fans 15 and under, will be sold on a first-come-first-serve basis in the main ticketing area of the lobby at the VFW Sports Center starting in the first period on Friday’s contest.

All remaining seats will go on sale at a later date. Season ticket holders will have the opportunity to buy their seats for the Bobcats-Red Stars match at the season ticket rate.

“The last time Bismarck-Mandan saw an event like this, I was in grade school,” joked Bobcats head coach and general manager Layne Sedevie, referring to the Bismarck Bullets’ 1993 contest against the Red Army Juniors, “so Friday will be a great opportunity for our fans to get their seats locked in for a rare international event here in Bismarck.”

In addition to the exclusive chance at tickets to the Red Stars game, the Bobcats will be putting on the big party that fans have come to expect from Coors Light Opening Night, starting with a Party in the Parking Lot with HOT 97.5 and Cloverdale Meats. HOT 97.5 afternoon drive host Mia Amini will emcee the party with Today’s Hottest Music while Cloverdale Meats will provide free food for all the partygoers.

Inside, Bobcats fans will be able to partake in Buck Off beers starting at 6:15—a half hour earlier than usual thanks to Coors Light and Jerome Distributing—all the way up until game time. Local TV personality “Freight Train” Todd Haugen will be in the lobby as well to greet and entertain fans indoors.

Friday’s festivities will hit a crescendo as Nightlife Music will have a special light & music show during the pregame as the Cats raise their third consecutive Central Division banner.

The puck will drop on Coors Light Opening Night against the Wings at 7:15 PM. The home opener will be broadcast locally on the radio home of Bobcat Hockey, Super Talk 1270, KLXX-AM, and worldwide on the official internet television partner of the NAHL, FASTHockey, at http://nahl.fasthockey.com. Pregame coverage gets under way at 6:45.
