Resseguie and Halliday Named to Top Prospects’ Team Central

FRISCO, TX – When the 2017 Top Prospects Tournament opens in late February, the Bismarck Bobcats will be represented on Team Central by co-captain Jared Resseguie and defenseman Jiei Halliday at the North American Hockey League’s annual all-star summit.

“It is a huge honor to be selected, but I couldn’t have achieved this goal without the help and support of my teammates and coaches,” stated Resseguie, who hails from Arvada, Colo. “Being chosen among those eligible for our team means a lot to me because there are plenty of our players who also deserve to go [to Top Prospects], as well.”

Resseguie, a 1998 birthyear in his second season with the Bobcats, has posted 23 points in 31 appearances, but coaches say it’s his intangibles that have him booking a trip to Plymouth, Mich., in two weeks.

“Jared is the heart and soul of our team,” hailed Bobcats head coach and general manager Layne Sedevie, who named Resseguie his team’s co-captain at the age of 18. “When he’s been healthy, he’s been our best two-way player, logs minutes on both the power play and penalty kill and is our best face-off guy. He can do it all.”

Halliday, a native of Tokyo, Japan, has been a mainstay on the Bobcat blue line since arriving during training camp. He has 15 points (6g, 9a) in 35 games played and leads the Bobcats in plus/minus on the year at +2.

“It is an honor to be selected to represent our team and division at Top Prospects,” added Halliday, who is a 1996 birthyear in his final season of junior eligibility. “I’m excited to go to Plymouth with Jared and play at such a major league event in front of so many college and pro scouts.”

The NAHL Top Prospects Tournament will take place at USA Hockey Arena, home of the US National Team Development Program, February 27 and 28. Team Central will face Team Midwest on Day One and Team South on Day Two.

Back in the capital region, the Bobcats will host the Minnesota Wilderness and Brookings Blizzard for a two-game home weekend, starting Friday with Minnesota.

Tickets are now on sale for both home contests: fans can buy and print tickets online 24 hours a day at BismarckBobcats.com or charge by phone during regular business hours at 222-3300.

Friday’s home tilt will be broadcast locally on the radio home of Bobcat Hockey, Super Talk 1270 AM, and worldwide on HockeyTV.com–the web television partner of the North American Hockey League–with pregame coverage starting at 6:50pm.

Pro-rated season tickets are now on sale for the Bobcats’ landmark platinum anniversary campaign fans can get more information or reserve their seats for all of Season Twenty now by calling 222-3300.
