Bobcats Deal for Forward Junger from Kenai River

BISMARCK, ND – With the 2016 NAHL Entry Draft less than two weeks away, the Bismarck Bobcats kept their busy week of transactions going: sending a fifth round draft pick to the Kenai River Brown Bears for forward Austin Junger.

In 38 games between the Brown Bears and the Fairbanks Ice Dogs in 2015-16, Junger netted four goals and added eight assists.

“Austin is a guy with good skill and a big body,” stated Bobcats head coach and general manager Layne Sedevie on Junger, who stands 6-foot-2, “and he is another player with NAHL experience that will mesh well with our returners for [2016-17].”

A native of Wildwood, Mo., Junger is a product of the St. Louis Selects program in the NAPHL. He, along with the Bobcats’ nine 2015-16 returners and fellow recent acquisition Zach Kennedy, is on the team’s 30-man protected list—also comprising 2016 tender signees and picks from the upcoming draft.

The Bobcats’ 2016 offseason rolls on June 3-5 with the team’s second and final Pre-Draft Tryout Camp in Prior Lake, Minn. Two days after open camp concludes, the Cats—along with the NAHL’s other 23 teams—will participate in the 2016 NAHL Entry Draft on June 7 at 1:00pm.
