Bobcats Unveil New-Look Schedule for 2015-16

FRISCO, TX – The road ahead for the Bismarck Bobcats is now known, as the organization is pleased to announce its 2015-16 regular season schedule.

As has been the case since 2011, the Cats will play 60 regular season games: 28 at home, 28 on the road and four neutral site contests at the 13th Annual 2015 Easton NAHL Showcase in Blaine, Minn.

Unlike the previous nine seasons, however, the regular season will not begin in Blaine; the Cats will host the reigning Central Division champion Austin Bruins for two games on September 18 and 19 prior to heading to the Showcase. The last time the Bobcats played non-exhibition games before the Showcase was in 2005—when the league’s annual all-teams summit was held in October.

This year, the Showcase will begin Wednesday, September 23, and run through Saturday the 26th. The Cats’ opponents for the event will be announced at a later date.

For 2015-16, a large premium will be placed on divisional play, as 52 of the Bobcats’ 60 games will be against Central Division opposition. Four non-division games at the Showcase and four contests against the defending Robertson Cup Champion Minnesota Wilderness will comprise the out-of-division schedule.

Another notable difference will be the length of the regular season: normally the season would end near the end of March but, with the Showcase shifting back one week, the regular season will end for the Bobcats on April 9.

Once again, the Bobcats will host a New Year’s Eve contest with the archrival Minot Minotauros coming to town to close out 2015. The Cats will also kick off the Thanksgiving Holiday week with a home contest against the Brookings Blizzard on Wednesday, November 25.

Below is the full 2015-16 schedule (all dates are subject to change):

All told, the Cats will play 12 games each against Minot, Brookings and the Aberdeen Wings and eight contests each against Austin and the Central Division newcomer Minnesota Magicians, plus the eight-game out-of-division slate.

A busy 2015 offseason continues this Friday as Main Camp returns to the VFW Sports Center, running through Sunday morning. As always, Main Camp is open to the public with free admission.
