Bobcats Visit Sanford Hospital Children’s Wing, Present Check

BISMARCK, ND – Before their pivotal home game on Friday, Bismarck Bobcat players and staff took the afternoon to visit the Sanford Hospital Children’s Wing, spending time with kids in the hospital and also presenting a check from the team’s 2016 Brave the Shave event.

“All of our games right now are important in our little world of hockey, but they all mean almost nothing next to what these kids are going through,” expressed Bobcats head coach and general manager Layne Sedevie, who was joined by players Cole Souto, Jared Pike, Tobias Fladeby and Jordan Fralich at Sanford. “I’d say it was just as rewarding for the kids who were there as it was for our players, who had the chance to lift the spirit of local youngsters who are battling serious problems.”

While there, the team presented a check for $6,150.00 from their Brave the Shave event, held earlier in March.

After presenting the check, the Bobcat players visited with some of the kids for an extended period of time.

“Seeing our guys befriend and spend time with these little ones was great to see,” added Sedevie. “One of my favorite parts was seeing Cole Souto and Jordan Fralich interact with one boy named Luke. They hung out in his room and read him stories for almost an hour and everyone had a great time.

“It was such a great, fulfilling experience; I’d put it up there as one of the best days I’ve had as a part of this team.”

On the ice, the Bobcats will play their final home weekend of the regular season Friday and Saturday at 7:15pm when the Minnesota Magicians come to the VFW Sports Center.
