ABERDEEN, SD – The Bismarck Bobcats will continue two weeks’ worth of games away from home with a one-off contest Friday against the Aberdeen Wings at Odde Ice Center.

In their only previous meeting of 2015-16, the Bobcats survived a furious second period rally by the Wings and pulled away for their first road win of the season by a final of 5-2 on October 16.

That win sparked the Cats’ current 4-2-0 run that pulled the black and gold out of the Central Division’s basement and thrust them into a tie for third.

Alex Strand and Harrison Aide led the Bobcats’ offensive charge in October, combining for three goals and nine assists last month. For his part, Strand’s two goals and four assists earned the former Roseau Ram an honorable mention for the NAHL’s Forward of the Month award.

Aberdeen, meanwhile, has slipped into a fifth place deadlock with the Minnesota Magicians in the standings amid five straight defeats.

Despite their results on the scoreboard, the Wings have gotten a strong contribution from veteran forward Colin Raver, whose five goals in October—including a power play strike against the Bobcats—were tops for Aberdeen.

Special teams could be a deciding factor Friday: Aberdeen’s power play provided both Wings goals on October 16, while the Cats’ struggling power play (10.2%) will run up against an Aberdeen penalty kill whose 88.6% rating is fourth-best in the NAHL.

Round two of the Titan Machinery Dakota Cup will be broadcast live on locally SuperTalk 1270 AM, the radio home of Bobcat Hockey, and worldwide online at NAHL.FASTHockey.com—the official web television partner of the North American Hockey League—with pregame coverage starting at 7:00pm.
