The Bobcats throughout the history of the organization have developed some incredible goaltenders. This year is no different as Tomas Anderson and Kai Weigel have been magnificent for the Bobcats, both registering a GAA under 2.00. Taking a closer look at Anderson, this past weekend were his 8th and 9th straight starts. With wins in both nights, he reached the 30 win mark, which is tied for 1st in the entire NAHL. His 1.51 GAA ranks 2nd among all goaltenders, and his .938 save percentage is 3rd in the NAHL.
Voice of the Bobcats, Brandon Luisi, caught up with Anderson to talk about his season up to the current point. “I’m definitely having a great year this year, but like I say all the time, I have to give it up to our team. Coach Roth is coaching these guys really well. We have great defensemen, great forwards, and we can win games, so that makes my game really easy,” Anderson said.
Being mentioned with the greats that the Bobcats have had in the past, is an honor that means a lot to Anderson. “It’s awesome. Layne [Sedevie] definitely does a great job bringing these goalies in and developing them for the next level and I’m excited to take that opportunity and it’s great to be behind those guys,” Anderson mentioned.
Anderson is committed to play the next 4 years at Niagara University (D1). The Bobcats are on home ice this weekend to take on the St. Cloud Norsemen. Be sure to come catch the action at the VFW by calling 390-7422 or by logging onto BismarckBobcats.com to get your tickets today.
