The Bismarck Bobcats have completed a trade with the Lincoln Stars (USHL) sending forward Cooper Williams to the Stars in exchange for Nick Snyder and future considerations.
Williams, an ‘07 Lake Superior State University commit, was leading the NAHL in goals with 31 on the campaign. His 13 power play goals is also 1st in the NAHL. Williams reflected on his time in Bismarck and mentioned how the community felt like family. “Bismarck to me felt like family. The whole situation was awesome. From on the ice to everything off the ice it was done right and it was a great experience. Bismarck is for sure the best spot in the NAHL to play.”
Bobcats General Manager and Director of Scouting Niko Kapetanovic had high praise when talking about Williams’ time with the Bobcats. “We are proud of Cooper and want to thank him for everything he gave the Bismarck Bobcats. His goal scoring ability was amazing to watch. The amount he developed in Bismarck with our staff and players was outstanding. We wish Cooper the best of luck and he will forever be a Bobcat. Our staff and fans are excited to watch his future success.
Returning to the Bobcats is a piece of last year’s Robertson Cup team in Nick Snyder. Last year, Snyder appeared in 26 regular season games for the Bobcats where he scored 2 goals and added on 9 assists for a total of 11 points. Snyder would go on to have an explosive playoff run. In 12 games, Snyder tallied 4 goals to go along with 2 assists for 6 points.
Kapetanovic commented on the excitement he has for Snyder to return to the Bobcat Lineup. “Getting Nick back to the Bobcats is huge for our team. Snyds is an elite hockey player that is an exceptionally honest 2-way forward for our group. Having a member of our Robertson Cup Championship team come back is incredible to have on the ice and in the locker room. Nick will insert himself as a dominant player for us and we are thrilled to get him back.”
The Bobcats are back in action this weekend at the Odde Ice Center to take on the Aberdeen Wings.
