Bobcats Add Forward Warnert for Stretch Run
BISMARCK, ND — The Bismarck Bobcats are pleased to announce the addition of forward Blaine Warnert to the team’s roster for the remainder of the 2018-19 season.
Warnert, an 18-year-old forward from Chaska, Minn., recently finished his senior season as captain for the Chaska High School Hawks. He is committed to play NCAA Division I hockey for the University of Nebraska-Omaha.
“Blaine is a big, physical, hard-working player,” assessed Bobcats associate head coach and director of player personnel Garrett Roth. “He’s got a great release and is a proven goal-scorer who has high character; he looks to be a strong addition to our lineup for the stretch run.”
In 25 games for Chaska in 2018-19, Warnert racked up 40 points on 25 goals and 15 assists—leading the Hawks to the second seed in Section 2AA of the Minnesota state hockey playoffs, where he scored goals in both of Chaska’s postseason contests.
As the Bobcats only had 21 players on their active roster in advance of the February 10 protected list deadline, the team added both Warnert and Bemidji High senior Hunter Olson to their final 2018-19 roster during the February 8-10 add window. The Bobcats will also be able to add two players tendered for the 2019-20 season—including playoff eligibility—prior to the Friday, March 1, tender-add deadline.
The Bobcats will continue their playoff push at the VFW Sports Center as they open a two-game home series against the Brookings Blizzard on Friday and Saturday; tickets are available for both games at BismarckBobcats.com or by clicking “Shop Now” on the Bobcats’ Facebook page!
Fans can tune in live coverage of both contests, with pregame coverage starting at 6:45pm on Super Talk 1270 AM, the radioPup smartphone app and HockeyTV.com.
