Altered Slate
MINOT, ND – In a different twist on the usual 2-2-1 format on the divisional rounds of the Robertson Cup Playoffs, the Bismarck Bobcats and Minot Minotauros will alternate home sites every game in their Central Division Semifinal showdown.
The curtain will rise on the 2015 postseason Friday with Game One at Maysa Arena with a 7:35pm start, followed Saturday by the Cats’ first home playoff date at 7:15pm Saturday.
Game Three follows on Friday, April 10, at 8:05pm in Minot.
Should Game Four be necessary, it is scheduled for Saturday, April 11, at 7:15pm back at the VFW Sports Center.
If no winner is decided in four games, a decisive Game Five is set for Friday, April 17 at the Maysa.
Playoff tickets are now on sale 24 hours a day online at BismarckBobcats.com or by phone at 222-3300.
One More Time
A career-high four-point game propelled Bobcats forward to Willie Brown to the Central Division’s Second Star of the Week in the final batch of weekly NAHL awards for 2014-15.
In Friday’s 6-1 victory over Minot, Brown contributed two goals—including the game-winner—and two assists.
The South St. Paul, Minn., native also compiled a plus-five rating on the weekend. He also earned Second Star in the South Division with the Topeka Roadrunners on October 6.
Also playing a key role in Friday’s victory was goaltender Alex Bitsakis, whose 31-save performance in the season’s penultimate contest netted the veteran netminder an honorable mention nod for the divisional hardware.
