Bears Donated To Local Organizations

Jan 4, 2024

Patrick Johnson’s goal on December 16th sent teddy bears raining down onto the ice at the VFW SportsCenter.  Without a doubt, Bobcat fans knew the assignment.  This year we collected a record number of bears to be donated to local organizations.

The teddy bears, large and small, have been donated to three organizations in our community.  Bears were donated to The Kid’s Therapy Center where they were available for parents to pick up to give to their kids for Christmas presents.  The Kid’s Therapy Center takes a holistic approach to treating kids going through a rough time in their lives.

Having a child in the hospital during the holiday season can be extremely tough on a family.  This year we continued the tradition of bringing teddy bears to the Sanford Health Foundation to make a child’s stay in the hospital just a little better during Christmas.

Lastly, but just as important, the bears went to the 31:8 Project.  This is an organization in town that helps to fight human trafficking.  The bears get put into backpacks and then distributed to law enforcement agencies across the western part of North Dakota.  When these law enforcement agencies come across an incident involving kids they can provide a backpack to help provide some comfort in a bad situation.

Thank you Bobcat fans for once again showing up and helping out our community.  All teams say it, but we truly have the best fans in the NAHL.
