The Bismarck Bobcats are proud to announce that Forward Ben Rakowski has committed to continue his collegiate hockey and academic career at Gustavus Adolphus College.
Rakowski, an ‘06 forward, came to the Bobcats this season after spending the previous two seasons with his home-state team, the Colorado Grit. Ben brought a veteran presence and willingness to do whatever it took for the team to have success. He consistently contributed on the penalty kill, paying the price by blocking shots and was a defensive presence on the ice.
Rakowski also had a career year offensively. His 13 goals and 26 points were both career highs for him. His 13 assists also tied a career high from the previous year. Over his 3 year NAHL career, Rakowski appeared in 116 regular season games in which he scored 20 goals and tacked on 29 assists for 49 career points. He also played in 7 playoff games, 2 with the Grit, and 5 with the Bobcats where he scored 1 goal. Rakowski alluded to his time in Bismarck and mentioned his excitement to take the next step with Gustavus Adolphus. “I’m proud and excited to announce my commitment to Gustavus Adolphus College! I would like to thank my family, friends, advisor, teammates, and coaches for helping me get to the next level of my hockey journey. Bismarck is a program that shapes players to get ready for this next step and I’m very thankful for my time at the program and the support of an incredible billet family.”
Gustavus Adolphus College is an NCAA DIII school located in St. Peter, MN that plays in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC). Rakowski will join former Bobcats and Robertson Cup Champions Kyle Doll & Charlie Sandven next season.
Rakowski is the 4th Bobcat throughout the 2025-26 season and offseason to make his commitment, joining Mark Evans who committed to Robert Morris University, Alex Lunski who recently made his commitment to UNLV, and Gianni DiVita who committed to Ohio University.
