Bobcat Trio Helps Power Team Weight to Title

Dec 6, 2010

WALPOLE, MA – Team Weight, featuring Bismarck Bobcats forwards Charlie Mosey and Dan Zawacki along with Bobcat netminder Ryan Faragher, is the champion of the 2010 NAHL Top Prospects Tournament—playing its first ever event in Boston—following a 7-2 thrashing of Team Legwand at Iorio Arena Tuesday.

Mosey tallied a pair of goals while Faragher made 23 saves and picked up the victory that propelled the team comprising stars from the Bobcats, Alexandria Blizzard, Aberdeen Wings, Owatonna Express, Coulee Region Chill, Austin Bruins and Springfield Jr. Blues to the top of the standings for the three-day event.

Team Weight finished 2-1-0 for the tournament, tied with Team Miller and Team Rafalski, but a sizable +8 goal differential saw Team Weight past their competitors (+3 and +1, respectively) for the title.

Mosey, showing no ill effects from the ankle injury that sidelined him most of November, finished tied for second at Top Prospects in goals with three and tied for fifth overall in points with four. Zawacki added a pair of assists for tournament and sported a +3 rating.

Faragher went 1-1-0 on the week, stopping 48 of 53 shots in 90:11 of playing time.
