The Bismarck Bobcats have completed a trade with the Wisconsin Windigo acquiring veteran forward Teddy Richardson in exchange for future assets.
Richardson, an ‘06 birth year, and Alaska Fairbanks commit, has multiple years of NAHL experience playing with both the North Iowa Bulls and with the Wisconsin Windigo. This season with the Windigo, Richardson had 12 goals and 21 assists in 25 games, before heading to Cowichan Valley (BCHL). Last season Richardson had a breakout playoff run with the Windigo, reaching the Robertson Cup Semi-finals and notching 12 points in 12 games. “I’m fired up for the opportunity to join the Bobcats and get to Bismarck. I’m ready to get to work, buy into the culture, and do whatever it takes to help the team make a strong push in the second half. I’m excited to compete and contribute to a winning environment, Richardson commented.”
Bobcats General Manager and Director of Scouting Niko Kapetanovic expressed his excitement on the acquisition of the veteran forward. “Teddy Richardson adds size, scoring, compete, offense, and playoff experience in the NAHL. Last season he was a menace in the playoffs and having that experience is extremely important in our league. A D1 committed player to UAF, he will immediately make an impact for the Bobcats. As a staff, we felt it was important for us to add a player with Teddy’s resume to our team.”
The Bismarck Bobcats are back in action this weekend to take on the Aberdeen Wings on the road. Puck drop is set for 7:15 P.M. both Friday and Saturday Night.
