The Bismarck Bobcats have completed a trade with the Oklahoma Warriors receiving 2008 Forward Ryder Rivard in exchange for Future Considerations.
Rivard Returns Home
Rivard, a Grand Forks, North Dakota native, stands at 6 ‘1, 176lbs. He spent the last two full seasons playing at Grand Forks Central High School where the Knights repeated as North Dakota High School State Champions. Over those two seasons Rivard appeared in 54 games, scored 35 goals, and added on 38 assists for a total of 73 points.
Following the conclusion of last year’s high school season, he appeared in 9 games for the Oklahoma Warriors. Rivard mentioned his excitement to come back home and play juniors in North Dakota! “I’m incredibly excited for the opportunity to join the bobcats. Being able to play junior hockey in my home state means a lot to me, and I’m grateful for the chance to represent North Dakota. I’m looking forward to getting to work with the team, developing as a player, and doing everything I can to help us win. I can’t wait to get to Bismarck and be a Bobcat!”
Highly Competitive, with a Ton of Skill
Bismarck Bobcats General Manager and Director of Scouting Niko Kapetanovic has had his eye on Rivard for a while and mentioned what he will bring to the team. “Ryder Rivard is a highly competitive forward with a ton of skill. We needed a little help on the left side up front and Ryder will provide that. I have watched him since his bantam years at Grand Forks, and we are thrilled to have him in Bismarck.”
Just Over a Month Away
The Bismarck Bobcats open up their preseason in just over a month as they take on the Minot Minotauros in the annual War in Watford, held at the Rough Rider Center in Watford City, North Dakota on September 11th & 12th. The regular season and 30th Anniversary Season for the Bismarck Bobcats will kick off the following weekend in St. Cloud as the Bobcats take on the Norsemen.
