Jun 10, 2025

The Bismarck Bobcats drafted two players in this year’s NAHL Futures Draft.

With the 34th pick of the draft, the Bobcats selected forward Marcus Matyas. Marcus spent this season playing for Cretin-Derham Hall High School under GM and Director of Scouting, Niko Kapetanovic. In 28 games, Matyas fired home 8 goals and tacked on 21 assists for a total of 29 points.

“Marcus is a player I’m extremely familiar with as I have coached him at CDH the last two years. He has elite level IQ, paired with incredible hands and a pro-level stick. His ability to make plays with or without time and space is unmatched,” Kapetanovic said.

With the 68th pick of the draft, the Bobcats selected defenseman Charlie Mineman. Mineman spent this season with the St. Louis Blues 15U AAA program. Charlie scored 19 goals and added on 39 assists for a total of 58 points in 73 games this season.

“Charlie is someone who I’ve watched a lot over the last year. He possesses great edge work and a great brain to make the easy play as well as high level play at any time. His overall compete level is off the charts. He’s coming from a great program with the St. Louis AAA Blues, who have had a ton of success with their players in the past,” Kapetanovic mentioned.
