– Press Release
The Bismarck Bobcats will have a new voice behind the mic on Super Talk 1270 AM for the 2009-2010 season. The Bobcats are pleased to welcome Paul Teeple as their new Director of Broadcasting/Media Relations. Teeple will replace Skip Berry on the radio as Skip has accepted a similar position with the Tier I – United States Hockey League\’s Tri-City Storm for next season.
Teeple was the radio voice for the Mahoning Valley Phantoms last season and comes to the Bobcats organization with a wealth of radio experience. He has been broadcasting hockey for 8 years and has developed an outstanding reputation as a true professional in the radio broadcasting business.
\”The Bobcat organization wishes Skip all the best in his ultimate quest to broadcast in the NHL and is confident he will someday get there. He has done a great job in Bismarck and we wish him, his wife Emily and their new baby Kellen all the best,\” said Bobcats Owner Thom Brigl. \”We will not miss a beat with Paul Teeple, who has a lot of experience and calls a nice game and will bring a great show to the fans.\”
Prior to broadcasting in the NAHL, Teeple was behind the mic at Ohio University for the American Collegiate Hockey Association Division I program while pursuing his Bachelors of Science in Journalism majoring in Broadcasting. Also, Teeple spent time broadcasting games with the former United Hockey League\’s Quad City Mallards.
\”It\’s going to be exciting to go to Bismarck and become a part of the ongoing success of the franchise,\” Teeple said enthusiastically accepting the position. \”I look forward to being part of the family with Bobcat Hockey and look forward to meeting the fans throughout the region. Talking with friends around the NAHL, they were thrilled for me to get this opportunity with the Bobcats as it is one of the best franchises in the league and I understand a great fan base.\”
Hockey is in the blood of the Teeple family as Paul\’s father (Brian Teeple) was a Division I goalie for Ohio University as well as a Detroit Red Wings prospect 35 years ago.
\”While I\’m truly excited about my move to the USHL\’s Tri-City Storm, I will miss the Bobcat organization and the fans in Bismarck. I owe a lot of gratitude to Thom Brigl and Head Coach Byron Pool, who helped further my career this past season,\” said former Bobcats broadcaster Skip Berry. \”Also, I would like to thank the fans, media and the players for a great season this past year. I know a lot about Paul and feel fans will really enjoy his calling of the action. He was one of the best broadcasters in the league last season and he will do a great job for the Bobcat fans.\”
All 58 regular season, preseason and playoff games will once again be on the radio on Super Talk 1270 AM. The Bobcats are delighted to again partner with Cumulus Media in Bismarck, ND to bring all the action to fans listening on the radio.
\”Cumulus Radio is a great partner and a perfect place to listen to all of the Bobcat action and updates. We are pleased to partner with Syd Stewart and his entire broadcasting crew at Cumulus and Super Talk 1270.\” Brigl said.
