The Bismarck Bobcats are giving back to local veteran groups this holiday season. It all stems back to our annual Military Appreciation Night in November. At our home game on December 16, 2023, the Bismarck Bobcats presented a check worth $10,200 to the Burleigh County Veteran Services Office and Morton County Veteran Service Office. The money was broken up into gift cards to Horizon Market, Tri-Energy Cooperative-Cenex, and Family Fare.
Morton County Veteran Service Officer Mitchell Erhardt says, “These gifts cards are the difference between veterans having a Christmas this year and not having a Christmas.” Erhardt goes onto say his office assists many veterans throughout the year when they need just a little help to get through a tough time.
This money was raised at the Bobcats annual Military Appreciation Night in November. This years event grew even bigger with the help of our sponsors; ENG Lending, Denny’s Electric, Blu Haven Spas, Bismarck Moose Lodge, and the Williston Moose Lodge. Like years past, the players wore special military design jerseys that were auctioned off following the game Friday Night. New this year, military themed custom painted helmets by Dunk Tank Designs out of West Fargo, ND. The helmets were auctioned off Saturday night in a silent auction.
Military Appreciation Night is a great opportunity for the Bobcat organization and our fans to say thank you to all of those who sacrifice so much so we can be free. Thank you to those who have served and are serving our great country.
