Bobcats Host Brookings Thursday

Jan 14, 2014

BISMARCK, ND–After a heated tilt last Saturday, the Bismarck Bobcats and Brookings Blizzard will again match up at the VFW Sports Center on Thursday night.

The Bobcats scored four unanswered to rout the Blizzard 7-2 in a game that saw 90 minutes of combined penalties.  Bismarck hit Brookings with a ton of emotion after what they felt was a cheap hit at the end of their previous battle in Brookings the week before, along with a 4-3 loss in a shootout to Aberdeen the night before.

Seven different Bobcats scored goals last Saturday night, and Tyler Dunagan recorded three assists on his way to NAHL Central Division Easton Star of the Week honors.  After managing 12 shots on goal in the first period, the Blizzard were held to just 11 the rest of the way.

Jacob McDowell (Dimondale, MI) and Dan Kovar (Bismarck, ND) both went over the 20-point mark for the season last weekend.  The Bobcats now have 10 20-point scorers on their team, a total no other team in the NAHL can boast.

First place will again be a factor in the weekend.  Austin, who leads the Bobcats by a point for the division lead, hosts Aberdeen, who trails the Bobcats by two points for second.

Faceoff Thursday is set for 7:15 p.m.  Tickets are still available at 222-3300 or online at www.bismarckbobcats.com.
