BISMARCK, N.D.–The Bismarck Bobcats’ final series of March has been circled on the calendar for a while.
The surging Bobcats, with 9 wins in their last 11 games and 14 in 20, host the St. Cloud Norsemen, who are 17-2-2 in their last 21. The first-place Norsemen against the home-ice advantage of the VFW Sports Center.
This matchup of unstoppable forces carries postseason implications for both sides. The Bobcats, whose home record is an outstanding 16-6-2, stand six points out of the final playoff spot with eight games to play. Bismarck has two games in hand on Minot, who currently controls the fourth position.
For St. Cloud, standing in first place with 67 points, one win is all it takes to be the first central division team to mathematically clinch a playoff spot.
