WENATCHEE, WA – The Bismarck Bobcats will raise the curtain on the 2010 Robertson Cup Tournament Tuesday at the Town Toyota Center against the three-time defending national champion St. Louis Bandits at 4:05 PM (Central Time).
The Bobcats advanced to the national tournament thanks to sweeps of the Albert Lea Thunder and Alexandria Blizzard while the Bandits struggled through the South Division playoffs with five-game series wins over the Texas Tornado and Topeka Roadrunners.
It is the Bobcats’ second straight Robertson Cup Tournament appearance while the Bandits are making their fourth consecutive trip to nationals.
The two teams finished five points apart in the regular season standings, with the Bandits claiming the league’s third-best record at 44-11-3 with 91 points while the ‘Cats ended up fourth-best overall at 39-11-8 with 86 points.
The entire Robertson Cup Tournament will be broadcast locally on the radio home of Bobcat Hockey, Super Talk 1270, KLXX-AM, and worldwide at BismarckBobcats.com via B2 Networks. Tuesday’s pre-game show gets underway at 3:35 PM.
