Bobcats sign defenseman Tristen Trevino to tender agreement

Feb 15, 2024

BISMARCK, ND – The Bismarck Bobcats have signed defenseman Tristen Trevino to a tender agreement for the 2024-25 season.

Trevino, an ‘06 born player, has tallied 4 goals and 18 assists in 36 games with Pittsburgh Penguins Elite 18U AAA this season. The Beverly Hills, Michigan, native has appeared in one NAHL game this year with the Philadelphia Rebels.

“Tristen is someone we have been on since October,” Bobcats Assistant General Manager Niko Kapetanovic said. “After bringing him out on a visit, having him around the team, and having multiple conversations, we are thrilled about the person we are getting in Bismarck.”

A product of the Little Caesars organization in metro Detroit, Trevino is currently in his third season with the Pittsburgh Penguins Elite program.

“Tristen will be able to step in immediately and be an impact player on our back end,” Kapetanovic said. “His stick, brain, feet, along with his size are the tools that make him defend well.”

Tender agreements are contracts handing a North American Hockey League team rights to a player for the upcoming season.

“Tristen has the ability to play hockey for a long time,” Kapetanovic said. “We are very glad his next stop in his development path will be in Bismarck next year.”
