Bobcats Tender Defenseman Luke Karcher

May 19, 2026

The Bismarck Bobcats are proud to announce that Defenseman Luke Karcher has signed a tender for the 2026-27 season.

Karcher, an ‘09 blueliner, out of St. Louis, MO comes to the Bobcats following his season with the St. Louis Jr. Blues 16U AAA program. In 17 total games between the playoffs and the regular season, Karcher registered 1 goal and 6 assists for a total of 7 points. Luke also appeared this season for Chaminade College Prep High School in Missouri putting up 8 points in 14 games.

Bismarck Bobcats Midwest Regional Scout Greg Anderson talked about what makes Karcher a great fit for the Bobcats next season. “Luke Karcher is a strong two-way defenseman with a quick and heavy shot. He has the skating ability to impact the game at both ends of the ice. He handles the puck well, has a good stick defensively, and consistently controls his gaps to limit opposing forwards and shuts down plays before they develop.”

Karcher is also a right-handed defenseman. For most of the season, last year, the Bobcats had just one right-handed defenseman (Noah Ziskie) until Danny Browning joined the team for the final stretch of the season and the playoff push.
