BISMARCK, ND – The Bismarck Bobcats have signed defensemen Gus Thorp to a tender agreement for the 2024-25 season.
Gus is an ’07 born player who has played at the AAA level with Team Wisconsin 13-16U. He has played for Chippewa Falls High for two years where last season he amounted 32 points in 24 games played including 10 goals and 22 assists.
“We would like to welcome Gus Thorp to the Bismarck Bobcats. Gus is a big, strong, good skating, physical D,who has all the tools to play this game for a very long time. At his age he is mature beyond his years. I’ve been fortunate enough to know Gus since he was 3 years old and he comes from a tremendous family. Bismarck fans will see a pro style D out of the 07’ Gus Thorp next year, the Bobcats are better next year with the addition of Gus.” Said Niko Kapetanovic the Bobcats’ assistant general manager. Gus started his journey in 2020 as part of the AAA Wisconsin 13U team before moving up to their 14U team then their 15U team. In 2022 he played for both the 15U team and Chippewa Falls High as part of the USHS-WI league. His PPG improved from the 2023 season to the 2024 season. Now he will be adding his offensive minded defense to the Bobcats blue line.
Tender agreements are contracts handing a North American Hockey League team rights to a player for the upcoming season.
