The Bismarck Bobcats are proud to welcome Hermantown High School goaltender and Frank Brimsek award winner, Bryce Francisco to the team.
Francisco has been spectacular in the 3 games he has appeared in for the Bobcats. He currently sits at a 2-0-0 record with a 2.25 GAA and a .912 save percentage. While it is a small sample size, there is no doubt that Bryce has exhibited confidence in net and is ready for this next step into the NAHL.
This past weekend, Francisco was named the winner of the Frank Brimsek Award. This award is given out to the top high school goaltender in the state of Minnesota. Former Bismarck Bobcat goaltender Hunter Shepard won the Brimsek Award back in 2014 with Grand Rapids High School and has gone on to make appearances in the NHL with both the Washington Capitals and the Ottawa Senators. Buffalo Sabres goaltender Alex Lyon also won the Brimsek Award in 2011 with Lake of the Woods.
Francisco becomes the first Hermantown goaltender to win the Brimsek Award since the award was introduced in 1995.
