Bobcats Training Camp Update: Week Two

BISMARCK, ND – With the daunting challenges of Hell Week now behind the Bismarck Bobcats, players have hit the ice at the VFW Sports Center in preparation for the 2014-15 season.

“It’s great to finally get back on the ice,” expressed third-year Bobcats forward Evan Giesler, a 2012 draft pick. “Being able to lace up the skates is nice after going through Hell Week, because the mindset shifts to preparing for the preseason, Showcase and the regular season.”

Training Camp opened on August 25, and will run until the team departs for the Easton NAHL Showcase.

As roster cuts loom for the team over the next month, the seven days of practices plus preseason contests against the Minot Minotauros next week will be critical in determining who lands the available roster spots for the 2014-15 Bobcats.

“The guys showed us a lot last week at Healthways, and proving that you’re in the right condition to be a Bobcat is critical,” explained Bobcats head coach Layne Sedevie, “but now it comes down to hockey. Can you make the right plays? Can you adapt to our systems? Can you compete every single shift? These things are what will make the difference in being a Bobcat.”

For the preseason, the Bobcats will travel to Minot on Thursday the 11th before a rematch against the Tauros on Saturday the 13th at the VFW Sports Center.

Tickets for the home preseason game are now on sale as an online exclusive at BismarckBobcats.com.

The Bobcats will open the 2014-15 campaign on September 17 against the Soo Eagles at the Easton NAHL Showcase in Blaine, Minn., with Coors Light Opening Night to follow on September 27 as the Cats host the Austin Bruins in a rematch of the last three Central Division Finals.

With the 2014-15 season arriving soon, demand for season tickets is at an all-time high; fans who want to lock in their seats for the entire campaign should call the Bobcat office at 222-3300 today!
