Catching up with the Cats: Brandon Reller

Feb 27, 2025

This past week, voice of the Bobcats, Brandon Luisi, caught up with another fan favorite from the previous few seasons, as he had Brandon Reller on the show.

Reller appeared in 74 games for Bismarck over different parts of 3 seasons. He brought a wealth of knowledge and veteran leadership to the locker room as he previously played for the Spokane Chiefs in the WHL. Reller notched 17 goals and tacked on 25 assists for a total of 42 points throughout his tenure with the Bobcats. He had nothing but positive things to say about the town. “It’s hard to really pinpoint one moment. My time in Bismarck was unforgettable. It was a great town, I wouldn’t have rather been in any other place. Bismarck takes you in like you’re one of them and you get used to the small town vibe and I really enjoyed it there,” Reller said.

Reller elected to go pro following his junior career, suiting up in four games for the Macon Mayhem of the SPHL, before moving to the FPHL where he’s playing with one of the expansion teams this season, the Athens Rock Lobsters. Reller talked about his transition from junior hockey to pro hockey and how his game has translated. “It’s been awesome. A little bit different, obviously, you’re a rookie again. Just taking on different roles, but I’ve really enjoyed my start to my professional career,” Reller mentioned.

Reller closed out the interview with a message to the Bobcat fans, to the city, and to the players as well. “I would obviously like to say thank you to the fans. Bismarck has the best fans in the NAHL, top to bottom. I can’t say enough about them. Good luck to this year’s Bobcats team. I was fortunate enough to play for Coach Roth as well in the NAHL. He’s a great coach and I know he’ll take the boys far,” Reller said.
