Forward, Defenseman Added for Bismarck

Bismarck, ND – The Bismarck Bobcats have selected forward Jack Rhode and defenseman Dakota Kott in the NAHL Dispersal Draft.

Rhode was picked from the Springfield Jr. Blues, while Kott was drafted from the Jamestown Rebels. Both franchises have elected to sit out the 2020-21 season due to COVID-19 restrictions, which led to an NAHL Dispersal Draft.

Rhode, 19, collected five goals and four assists in 29 games with the Jr. Blues last season. He also scored three times for the Janesville Jets before joining Springfield.

“He’s a hard worker that has a knack for the net,” said assistant coach Garrett Hendrickson. “We’re excited to have him in Bismarck.”

Kott spent last season with Hartland High School in Michigan, posting 10 goals and 17 assists in 23 games. The 18-year-old defenseman had 45 points in 48 career games in high school.

“He’s a good skating, mobile defenseman with a high ceiling,” Hendrickson said. “He’s a great addition to a talented blue line.”
