History Achieved

Apr 9, 2025

Tomas Anderson has had an incredible season by every measure possible. This past weekend Anderson became the new record holder for most wins by a goaltender in a single season in Bobcat history. It’s a record that was held by Hunter Shepard dating back to his 34 win season back in 2015-16.

This season was Anderson’s first season with the Bobcats and 2nd in junior hockey overall. Last year Anderson was with the OCN Blizzard in the Manitoba Junior Hockey League (MJHL). He won the MJHL Top Goaltender of the Year award last year. This year he is certainly making the case to be the best goaltender in the NAHL award. For Anderson, coming into a new team, a new locker room, and a new coaching staff wasn’t that difficult of a transition. “It was awesome. Obviously we have an older group, so everyone is mature and super nice about new guys coming into the team. It was super comforting coming to this team and this is a special group like I’ve said. I couldn’t do what I’m doing without them,” Anderson said.

His eyes are on the prize, however, the end goal this season of a Robertson Cup is one step closer as this weekend marks the end of the 2024-25 regular season. The looming playoffs make for an exciting locker room morale. “We know that we have home ice advantage, which is definitely a huge plus with the atmosphere we have here and our fanbase. It’s something else and it’s very special, and we’re very excited that we have that,” Anderson mentioned.

Anderson is committed to play the next 4 years at Niagara University (D1). The Bobcats are the road this Friday to take on the Minot Minotauros, but will be back home Saturday to take on Minot.
