Four Goals Earn Fladeby Divisional Honor
FRISCO, TX – On the strength of four goals and an assist amid over the weekend, Bismarck Bobcats winger Tobias Fladeby was named the Bauer Central Division Star of the Week on Monday.
In a two-game sweep of the Austin Bruins Friday and Saturday, Fladeby scored twice each night—including Saturday’s game-winner—while chipping in a helper on Friday.
“As our top returning scorer from last season and given the talent he displayed as a rookie, we knew we could count on Tobias to produce early this year,” noted Bobcats head coach and general manager Layne Sedevie. “We needed to have a big weekend with Austin in town, and Tobias was one of the guys who stepped up and played well.”
Fladeby, 19, leads the Bobcats with six goals on the season and his 11 points have him tied for fourth league-wide in scoring.
Joining the Norwegian forward on the league’s weekly honor roll is linemate Parker Mismash, whose five points (1g, 4a) earned the second-year veteran the Central Division’s Second Star of the Week nod.
It is the second time in three weeks that the Bobcats have swept the Central’s awards (Jordan Fralich, Fladeby, September 19).
Now the Bobcats turn their attention to their first regular season trip up Highway 83 to Maysa Arena, where they’ll face the undefeated Minot Minotauros in a 7:35pm Saturday tilt.
Saturday’s archrivalry go-round will be broadcast locally on the radio home of Bobcat Hockey, Super Talk 1270 AM, and worldwide on HockeyTV.com–the web television partner of the North American Hockey League–with pregame coverage starting at 7:05pm.
