Fralich, Fladeby Nab Divisional Star Awards

FRISCO, TX – One big game along the Bismarck Bobcats’ blue line was enough to earn second-year defender Jordan Fralich the NAHL’s Central Division Star of the Week award Monday—the first such award handed out for the 2016-17 season—while winger Tobias Fladeby was named the division’s Second Star of the Week.

In the Cats’ only game of the weekend—a 7-2 victory on Coors Light Opening Night over Aberdeen—each of the second-year Bobcats chipped in three assists to get the 2016-17 campaign off on the right foot.

For Fralich, it was a career high for points in a single game.

“Coming into a season with so many new faces and younger guys, we knew we would have to rely on our veterans to step up early,” explained Bobcats head coach and general manager Layne Sedevie,” and Jordan is one of our returners who did just that on Saturday. With his puck possession and vision, we expect him to continue to be productive all season long.”

Two other Bobcat returners joined Fralich and Fladeby with multi-point performances Saturday: Parker Mismash (2g) and Jared Resseguie (1g, 1a) also managed crooked numbers in the points column.

Season 20 of Bobcat Hockey continues Wednesday in Blaine, Minn., where the Cats open NAHL Showcase play against the South Division’s Lone Star Brahmas at 5:15pm.

Wednesday’s first-ever meeting between the Bobcats and Brahmas will be broadcast locally on the radio home of Bobcat Hockey, Super Talk 1270 AM, and worldwide on FASTHockey.com–the web television partner of the North American Hockey League–with pregame coverage starting at 4:45pm.
